As you know I have been running with a Supersprint exhaust for about a year.

I started with a full system of 100 cell cats, non-resonated X pipe and the lightweight racing rear, but it was too damn loud and I had the OEM X pipe back on after a few weeks. That made a massive difference in external sound and also in reducing the droning in the cabin.

But after a year I have had enough and last week put the OEM rear-box back on - I will be selling the Supersprint one now and may put it on PH or take to Gaydon - and it's nice to have a quieter cabin I have to say. The downside is that the 65mm OEM tips look very spindly so I decided to do something about them and today had these fitted ;

They are stainless steel Poweflex RAW tips which have an outside diameter of 76mm.

These the Supersprint ones which are 80mm....

I had them supplied and fitted by Grove Garage in Hove, who specialise in exhausts making stainless ones to order and supplying other makes & accessories such as Poweflow. The owner Leigh and the blokes who work with him are very friendly and helpful, and I stayed to watch and quite enjoyed myself. Leigh showed me some of the other tips ......one must have been 150mm....so therefore Corsa size!

If you are in the market for something to beef up the looks without all the noise, I would recommend you speak to these boys. grovegarage@hotmail.com

:thumbsup:

Nice looking tips Ian, :thumbsup1:

probably choose something very similar if i was to do the same, even though they are slightly smaller than the Supersprint ones they look chunky! 8-)

Cheers men........and Mick, they sound very authentic 8-)

What I have noticed now though is that I hear the tyre noise which I had been quite oblivious too :lol:

I appreciated the cup of coffee and number plate surrounds John.

The A27 was pretty grid-locked shortly after I joined it so I came off it and did the backroads home which was a reallly good drive from some reason. I was behind a 2.5lit Alfa 156(?) and I don't think he realised he had an ///M behind him as we were all pootling along. We came to a roundabout and he gave it the full right-foot..... and I though "bollrocks lets go for it". So I sat at the junction and waited until he was about 1/2 way round it when he was doing a nice little tail slide, and then I launched off. The exit we both took was a very sharp left-hander and then a hard right and, more by luck than judgement, I obviously got the lines spot on as, by the time we were taking the right-hander, I was on his rear bumper. I think he was a tad surprised and realised he was in the presence of superior technology because for the remaining 5 miles or so I drove behind him he made no effort to overtake anything despite having lots of opportunity - not that I was being a boy-racer or anything ;)

:thumbsup:
