The only changes are the rear lights, the front lights (facelift) on the rest of the 3 series will not find their way onto the M3, very much the same story as the E46 M3 Most of the visual changes are expected to take place inside and will include improved trim, a new center armrest and a second-generation iDrive system with four selector buttons for commonly used features such as the stereo. The iDrive system should also feature a new 8.8 inch LCD display and an optional 80 GB hard drive music and navigation system. Couldn't find much info tbh and don't quote me lol!!!

It's very strange Ian, because I only drive it at weekends I don't really explore or exploit it's capabilities. However recently I have had some time on my hands and I have pushed quite a bit, and it really is a very capable car, amongst it's many attributes are it's levels of grip which are better than my "Red Wonder" which was tuned in the handling department. The thing is that the engine reving so high is that it' goes against the need for mechanical sympthay, once you get to accept that you really don't want the engine revs to drop below 4.5-5K progress is very rapid and whilst I may not have total mastered heel and to down shifts I get better the more I try and the V8 engine obviously has a very wide rev/torque band. I now do throttle blips on up changes and this really seems to help remove that slight notchy feel when changing gear, which is even more noticable in the E46 M3 so give it a try and see what you think. When all said and done the only view you get of the car when you are driving it is the bonnet bulge and the air intakes, which most people agree are the best bits. In all fairness to BMW on the looks as I understand it their hands are tied to a certain degree based upon how much damage you are going to do to a pedestrian if you run them over hence the bulbous and enlarged front when compared to the E46, so there you go you are driving a "Killer"

From some angles it looks ok, like the side view i think is quite sleek and the rear looks o.k to ....although why they decided to have the exhaust rear box hanging down for everyone to see i don't know its a big design fault and really spoils the back end imo! then there is the front hrmmm not my cuppa t, as i've said before looks like a bull terrier,
I will admit the E92 M3 has grown on me from its first release which then i thought it was bloody oogly all round and seeing one in the flesh helps as they don't take a very good picture, same with the X6 didn't like that at all but the X6M has really grown on me and looks very muscular and has lots of road presence when you see one in the flesh, its like allot of the newer BMW's they don't grab you initially but grow on you over time,
There is no doubt its a very capable car and the engine is an engineering master piece imo, a V8 that revs to 8,300 is an achievement not to be sniffed at, as a everyday car that's a comfy, quite cruiser on one hand and then to a proper snarling performance motor technacilly is a awesome car, i don't think there is anything else on the market that comes close, the E46 is a car for all occasions but i think the E9x does it that bit better!
Could be the last of the great NA BMW engines and that will be a great shame and unfortunately there are so many outside influences when designing a car it might be a long time if at all before we have a real good looking BMW again!

Lets be honest, BMW are really not going to make an M car that is worst than the one they are replacing.
Granted the looks are not to everyones tastes, although I'm sure the E30 owners said the same when the E36 first made an apperence, and again the diehard E36 fans when the E46 popped it's head up.
It may be bigger and not look as aggressive as the E46, but I personnally don't think it's an ugly motor and some of these modded E9x do look sweet.
